Ekeberg Elektro is an 11 person electrical contractor working across residential, service, renovation, and new build projects. For years, quoting relied on Excel and Elverdi, particularly for larger jobs, making the setup familiar and functional.

This approach required manual adjustments each time, which led to pulling away from productive work on site. Similar projects meant rebuilding structures from scratch and booked jobs had to be added carefully. If a colleague needed to follow up on a quote, they often had to understand how that specific spreadsheet was initially built.
Magnus Myrvold, Project Manager and Electrician at Ekeberg Elektro, describes it clearly. Nothing was fundamentally broken. The process simply demanded more time and attention than it should have.
“We used Elverdi and Excel, especially on larger projects. It worked, but setting up quotes took a long time and required a lot of manual work.”
Nothing was fundamentally broken. The process simply demanded more time and attention than it should have.

Through EL-PROFFEN, Ekeberg Elektro were introduced to Kobbr. As with any new tool, there was hesitation.
“I’m usually skeptical of new systems. It is easy to think it is just another tool to learn.”
Once they saw how it worked in practice, the transition felt manageable and fit naturally into their workflow. Two team members began using Kobbr actively in their daily quoting, particularly for small and medium sized jobs. The shift was gradual and practical rather than disruptive.
After sending roughly five quotes in Kobbr, Magnus says it quickly became his default quoting tool for residential and service jobs, largely because of how easy it was to use and the structure it brought to quoting and follow-ups.
Before Kobbr, preparing quotes often required building structures manually in spreadsheets. With Kobbr, the process became more structured and easier to manage.
Recurring job elements are reused instead of recreated for each new project, reducing repetitive setup and creating a more predictable workflow. Manual reservations and number transfers between systems have also been reduced, simplifying administration and lowering the risk of small but time consuming errors.
Magnus estimates that Kobbr saves him around one hour per quote on average. Since he typically sends around five quotes per week, this translates to approximately five hours saved each week. Much of that time is saved not only while building the quote itself, but also later in the process. Customers ask fewer clarification questions, and revisions are easier to manage when the quote is already clearly structured.
At the same time, the quotes themselves follow a clearer and more professional structure. Each proposal reflects the company’s brand and presents scope, options, and pricing in a way that is easy for customers to understand.
“It is much faster to send out quotes. We save time, and the proposals look more professional. My colleague can retrieve a quote and respond without starting from scratch.”

The effect was not only operational but practical. Quotes became easier to manage internally, allowing colleagues to retrieve and continue work on existing offers without starting over. This made follow ups and handovers more straightforward and reduced friction in daily collaboration.
Externally, the improved structure strengthened how customers perceived the company. Clear breakdowns and well presented options made it easier to understand what was included, which supported trust and simplified decision making. By responding while the customer conversation was still active, the team was able to preserve momentum and create a smoother experience from first contact to approval.
For highly complex projects such as full house installations or week long jobs, Excel is still sometimes used. Large multi package offers can feel more comfortable in spreadsheets.
But one aspect stands out.
“Kobbr is good at fixing and adjusting things when we provide input.”
The platform continues to evolve based on real contractor feedback. Features are updated regularly to improve both internal workflow and the customer experience.
One feature Magnus highlights in particular is the Contracting Works integration, which helps connect quoting more smoothly with the rest of their operational workflow.
EL-PROFFEN represents more than 5,000 electricians across Norway and operates the country’s largest installer network. Nearly 70 member companies now use Kobbr in their daily workflow.
This adoption did not happen through promotion alone, but also grew through practical results. Member companies consistently report reduced administrative load, clearer proposals, and smoother internal collaboration. As usage increased, the partnership deepened. For Ekeberg Elektro, this partnership meant access to a solution shaped by real industry feedback rather than built in isolation.

Kobbr fits particularly well for electrical contractors who send quotes regularly and feel that Excel works but requires more manual effort than it should. Â If Magnus were to summarise the experience in one sentence, he keeps it simple.
“Easy to get started. And easy to send quotes.”
The goal is not to introduce disruption or unnecessary complexity, but to provide a more structured and reliable way to handle something electricians already do every day. Quoting is a core part of the job, and when the process becomes clearer and more predictable, it naturally supports both efficiency and professionalism.
